LONDON (AP) — West Ham has signed Italy forward Simone Zaza on loan from Juventus for a fee of 5 million euros ($5.6 million) as the club's 11th recruit of the transfer window.
West Ham said Sunday a permanent fee of 20 million euros ($22.4 million) will be triggered automatically after a certain number of Premier League appearances this season.
Zaza played for Italy in the European Championship, missing a penalty after a stuttering run-up in the country's shootout loss to Germany in the quarterfinals.
p>The arrival of the left-footed attacker will assist solve an injury crisis at West Ham, with Andy Carroll & Andre Ayew currently injured & question marks over the future of Diafra Sakho.
West Ham failed to qualify for the Europa League group stage last week.
