Phoenix Suns to play 2 regular-season games in Mexico

PHOENIX (AP) — The Phoenix Suns will play two regular-season ''home'' games in Mexico City this season.

The team announced games there against the Dallas Mavericks on Jan. 12 & the San Antonio Spurs on Jan. 14.

It's the first time the NBA will have two games played in Mexico in the same season. With the two contests, the NBA will have held 24 games in Mexico since the first was held in 1992 & more than any country besides Canada.

Suns reach deals with SG Weems, point guard Price

PHOENIX (AP) — A person with knowledge of the situation says the Phoenix Suns have reached contract agreements with shooting guard Sonny Weems & point guard Ronnie Price.

Weems, an all-Euroleague first-team selection in 2013-14, gets a two-year, $5.8 million deal with the second year a team option. He will make just over $2.8 million this coming season.

Price agreed Wednesday to a one-year deal at the veteran's minimum of $1.5 million.

PHOENIX (AP) — A person with knowledge of the deal says the Phoenix Suns have traded second-round pick Andrew Harrison to the Memphis Grizzlies for forward-center Jon Leuer.

For an instant, the Suns appeared to have added a fifth Kentucky guard to their roster. But it was just a quick stop before going on to the Grizzlies.

The person with knowledge of the trade sought anonymity because the deal could not be officially announced until it is reviewed by the league office.

Phoenix Suns' Morris twins plead not guilty in beating case

PHOENIX (AP) — Marcus & Markieff Morris, twin brothers who play for the Phoenix Suns, have pleaded not guilty to two counts each of felony aggravated assault.

They are accused of helping three other people beat a man outside a Phoenix recreation center on Jan. 24. The brothers entered their pleas Thursday in Maricopa County Superior Court.

Police say 36-year-old Erik Hood reported that he was repeatedly punched & kicked while sustaining a fractured nose, abrasions & large bump on his head.
