The state's push to legalize the activity is being widely watched because a win for New Jersey could lead other states to commence similar efforts, or it could cause Congress to reconsider its 1992 ban on sports betting in all yet four states.

But New Jersey has so far been on the losing side. Governor Chris Christie, lawmakers & the New Jersey Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association on Aug. 25 lost an appeal before a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in Philadelphia.

Sept 9 (Reuters) – Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York, where Jason Dufner won his first major title, will host the 2023 PGA Championship, the PGA of America said on Wednesday.

It will mark the record-tying fourth time the season's final major returns to the Donald Ross-designed layout & the first since a then 36-year-old Dufner won by two shots in 2013.

Oak Hill is no stranger to major events, having moreover hosted the PGA Championship in 1980 & 2003 plus the Ryder Cup in 1995, which Europe captured with a stunning final-day comeback.
