Berlin (AFP) – Germany captain Bastian Schweinsteiger regrets the nature of his hasty exit from Bayern Munich & would still like the chance to say a proper farewell to the Bavarian giants.

Schweinsteiger signed a three-year deal with Manchester United in July to turn his back on Bayern after 14 years & a host of titles including eight Bundesliga-winners medals & the 2013 treble.

But the 31-year-old regrets the manner of his Munich exit as he opted out of the pre-season presentation at the Allianz Arena on July 11, because he already knew he was off to Manchester.

EINDHOVEN, Netherlands (AP) — Manchester United says defender Luke Shaw has had surgery on his broken right leg & will remain in the Netherlands for the early stages of his rehabilitation.

Shaw broke his leg in two places in a tackle by PSV Eindhoven defender Hector Moreno in the first half of a Champions League group game on Tuesday.

United issued a short statement on Wednesday saying the England left back underwent an operation the night before, without saying how long Shaw is likely to be sidelined.

Manchester (United Kingdom) (AFP) – Surgeons on Wednesday operated on Manchester United defender Luke Shaw after he suffered a horrific double leg fracture in a Champions League game against Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, the English club said.

The 20-year-old spent the night in an Eindhoven hospital after being taken there during Tuesday night's 2-1 defeat by PSV.

United said in a statement that the England defender would stay in the Dutch hospital "to continue his early recovery".

Sept 15 (Reuters) – Swansea City will need to correct "100 things" that went wrong during their 1-0 loss to promoted side Watford on Saturday when they face Everton in the Premier League during the weekend, according to defender Neil Taylor.

The Swans made a strong start to their league campaign picking up eight points from their four games, including a 2-1 win over Manchester United & a 2-2 draw against champions Chelsea, before their loss to the Hornets.

"There were 100 things wrong with the performance (against Watford), we'll analyse that before Everton, yet I think we just weren't at it against a Watford side who, like every promoted team, will come at you like they did," the 26-year-old Taylor was quoted as saying by the British media.
