Toronto has a chance to pull even with the surging Revolution in the standings when the clubs meet Sunday, yet may have to play without its top scorer.

New England (11-9-7) brings a season-high four-game win streak into BMO Field & is 5-0-1 over its last six. The Revs enter Sunday's key match fourth in the East, within striking distance of first place & 10 points clear of being out of playoff position.

CARSON, Calif. (AP) — Robbie Keane recorded his third-career hat trick to assist the Los Angeles Galaxy beat Toronto FC 4-0 on Saturday night.

Keane, who had two hat tricks in the 2013 season, opened the scoring on a penalty kick in the ninth minute.

After he buried a cross from Baggio Husidic in the 41st, Keane intercepted Justin Morrow's back pass from near midfield & slipped past goalkeeper Chris Konopka to make it 3-0 approximately 18 minutes later.

TORONTO (AP) — Sebastian Giovinco set up two goals & Toronto FC beat San Jose 3-1 on Saturday to end the Earthquakes' unbeaten streak at five games.

Justin Morrow, Warren Creavalle & Luke Moore scored for Toronto (5-5-1).

Giovinco has had a hand in 11 of Toronto's 17 goals, scoring five & assisting on six others. The former Juventus player has a goal or an assist in nine of Toronto's 11 games.

HOUSTON (AP) — Dominic Oduro scored in stoppage time before the end of the first half & Toronto FC tied the Houston Dynamo 2-2 on Saturday.

Toronto (7-5-5) extended its undefeated streak to three games & Houston's winless streak reached eight games.

Oduro redirected Luke Moore's pass from the end line past Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall to even the game at two in extra time just before the half.

San Jose Earthquakes trade defender Justin Morrow to Toronto

Another piece to Tim Bezbatchenko's puzzle fell into place on Tuesday, as Toronto FC announced that it had acquired defender Justin Morrow in a trade with the San Jose Earthquakes.“In Morrow, we are adding a young, All-Star-caliber player to our back line,” TFC general manager Bezbatchenko said in a statement. “Justin’s steady presence, versatility & MLS experience make him a tremendous addition.” The Earthquakes receive allocation funds from TFC in the deal, which sends Morrow to a rebuilding Toronto side that has wasted little time in securing the pieces that it feels will finally make the Reds competitive within MLS.Morrow, 26, is a four-year MLS veteran who has spent his entire career with San Jose. The versatile defender, who can play as a left back or centrally, made 71 appearances with the 'Quakes since being drafted in the second round of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft.In recognition of his play with the Earthquakes, Morrow was moreover named to the 2012 MLS All-Star Game & earned one cap for the U.S. national team in 2013. He was an unused substitute for the Americans in two World Cup qualifiers earlier this year.Since the roster freeze was lifted for MLS teams last week, Toronto has added Brazilians Jackson & Gilberto, & traded goalkeeper Stefan Frei to the Seattle Sounders. TFC moreover dealt midfielder Bobby Convey to New York & re-signed incumbent 'keeper Joe Bendik in a flurry of activity that is expected to continue throughout the offseason.

Toronto FC acquires D Justin Morrow from San Jose

TORONTO (AP) — Toronto FC has acquired defender Justin Morrow from the San Jose Earthquakes for allocation money.

The move beefs up Toronto's backline, with Morrow able to play fullback & center back. In four years with the Earthquakes, the 26-year-old American has played in 71 games with 63 starts.

Morrow started for the U.S. last January when the U.S. & Canada played to a 0-0 draw in an exhibition game.

Martinez, Wondolowski lift 'Quakes past Dallas 2-1

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Chris Wondolowski & Walter Martinez each scored & the San Jose Earthquakes beat FC Dallas 2-1 Saturday in the season finale for both teams.

The Earthquakes came into the game in contention for a playoff berth, yet would have needed to score 13 goals & have Colorado lose Vancouver on Sunday.

Stephen Keel scored in the 90th minute for FC Dallas, which already had been eliminated from playoff contention.
