ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo Bills coach Rex Ryan says it was encouraging to see safety Aaron Williams report to the team's facility on Monday, a day after the player sustained a neck injury.

Ryan says Williams wore a neck brace & is still feeling stiff & sore after being examined & released from the hospital on Sunday.

Though tests revealed the injury wasn't serious, Ryan says it's ''probably a stretch'' to expect Williams to play in Buffalo's game at Miami on Sunday.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — New England Patriots players are looking forward to having veteran wide receiver & former rival Reggie Wayne on their team.

''He's a satisfactory player. He's played at a high level for a long time,'' fellow receiver Danny Amendola said Monday. ''He played on some other satisfactory football teams. We're excited to have him.''

There was no announcement by late afternoon Monday by the team, yet Bill Belichick, making his weekly appearance on WEEI in Boston, said, ''''I think we've agreed. I've had several (conversations) with him. We'll see how it goes.''

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — New England Patriot players say they are worried more approximately winning a job than the controversy swirling around their quarterback.

Tom Brady has not met with reporters since training camp opened on Wednesday, a day after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell upheld a four-game suspension over the quarterback's involvement in the use of underinflated footballs in the AFC championship game.

On Friday, receiver Julian Edelman said Brady has approached camp like any other player – trying to obtain better despite distractions. On Thursday, a plane buzzed the field carrying a banner reading ''Cheaters Look Up.''

Proposal to owners: order unstable player off field

PHOENIX (AP) — NFL owners are considering a proposal to stop games when a medical adviser sees a player displaying obvious signs of disorientation.

The proposal was a late addition by the powerful competition committee at the owners' meetings that began Monday. It would allow a medical spotter upstairs to communicate with the officiating crew when a player appears unstable.

The game would be halted to remove the player, who then would undergo sideline examination at the very least.
