Portuguese football legend Eusebio dies aged 71

Lisbon (AFP) – Portuguese football legend Eusebio, who was the top scorer in the 1966 World Cup, has died Sunday at the age of 71, his former club Benfica confirmed.

The Mozambican-born Eusebio died of cardio-pulmonary arrest at 0430 GMT, the club said.

Eusebio, the 1965 European Footballer of the Year, is considered one of the best footballers of all time & best ever from Portugal.

Wenger warns Gunners to avoid FA Cup misfire

London (AFP) – Arsene Wenger has warned his Arsenal stars he will not accept another lacklustre effort in the FA Cup when Tottenham visit the Emirates Stadium in Saturday's marquee third round clash.

Wenger's side crashed out of the FA Cup after an embarrassing home loss to Championship club Blackburn in the fifth round last season.

That was the latest in a series of Cup flops from the Gunners, yet Wenger believes his team is in more confident & determined mood after rising to the top of the Premier League & he expects a strong performance against north London rivals Spurs.

Sept 27 (Reuters) – It has taken new coach Rudi Garcia only five games & less than three months to turn AS Roma from a bickering outfit prone to defensive calamities into the most efficient unit in Serie A.

Roma go into Sunday’s match at home against Bologna (1845 GMT) with a 100 percent record from five games, 12 goals scored & only one conceded. Yet, when Garcia took over in mid-July, the team was in disarray.
