Crew-D.C. United Preview

Crew-D.C. United Preview

A string of superior results has the Columbus Crew's confidence soaring, while D.C. United may have had theirs restored with their most recent outcome.

In a game with significant ramifications in the Eastern Conference, the Crew aim for a franchise-record fourth straight road win in Saturday night's matchup with still-slumping United.

Columbus' 4-1-1 surge & D.C.'s four-game winless stretch has created a tight four-way race for first place entering the final month. Though one point back of conference leader New England, United (13-10-6) is only one ahead of fourth-place Columbus (12-9-8) & tied for second with the New York Red Bulls, who hold two games in hand on those three teams.

D.C. United-Red Bulls Preview

D.C. United-Red Bulls Preview

Neither the New York Red Bulls nor D.C. United played to their usual standards in their last MLS games. It's likely both will raise the intensity levels considering the stakes of Sunday's clash between the Eastern Conference's top teams.

New York (11-7-6) sits five points behind D.C. (13-9-3) for first place yet has three games in hand on its longtime rival. The Red Bulls missed an opportunity to close the gap, though, by dropping a 3-2 decision at last-place Chicago on Wednesday.

The Red Bulls had allowed six goals total during a 7-1-1 stretch in league play prior to the disappointing result & entered the match off consecutive shutout wins over New York City FC & Toronto FC.

D.C. United-FC Dallas Preview

Despite being eight points clear of everyone in the Eastern Conference, there's been something missing all season in D.C. United's attack.

One of the league's most prolific scorers might be able to assist – eventually.

Newly acquired Alvaro Saborio won't be around to contribute yet, leaving D.C. in search of internal options to end its scoreless drought Saturday night against an FC Dallas club that's been awfully satisfactory at preventing goals of late.
