Crystal Palace continues FA Cup run with 2-0 win vs Reading

READING, England (AP) — Crystal Palace continued its habit of winning in the FA Cup while struggling in the Premier League as Yohan Cabaye & Fraizer Campbell claimed late goals to beat second-tier Reading 2-0 Friday in the quarterfinals.

Cabaye scored a late penalty to donate Palace the lead in the 86th minute after a foul on Yannick Bolasie led to Reading's Jake Cooper being sent off.

Substitute Campbell scored a second goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time to confirm a semifinal appearance at Wembley for Alan Pardew's team. It's the first time the London club has reached the last four in 21 years.

LONDON (AP) — Son Heung-min scored his first Premier League goal in a dynamic display on Sunday to donate new club Tottenham a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

The South Korea forward completed a speedy counterattack in the 68th minute at White Hart Lane, compensating for another shot-shy performance from Harry Kane, who is yet to score this season & looking short of confidence.

A $28-million signing from Bayer Leverkusen in August, Son has now netted three goals in three days, having opened his account for Tottenham with a double in the Europa League on Thursday.

London (AFP) – Manuel Pellegrini expects Kelechi Iheanacho to play a significant role in Manchester City's title challenge after the Nigerian teenager's first goal for the club secured a dramatic 1-0 victory at Crystal Palace.

Iheanacho, who has the appropriate middle name of Promise, burst onto the Premier League stage on Saturday when he scored the 90th minute winner at Selhurst Park moments after appearing as a late substitute in only his second appearance for City.

Sept 1 (Reuters) – Bournemouth have signed forward Glenn Murray from Crystal Palace on a three-year contract, the Premier League club said on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old scored 47 goals in 125 appearances for Palace, including 31 in his successful 2012-13 term when he played a crucial role in the club's promotion to the Premier League.

Murray spent part of last season on loan with Championship side Reading, where he scored eight goals in 18 league games.
