NORTON, Mass. (AP) — Jordan Spieth has missed the cut in consecutive events for the first time in his career.

The Masters & U.S. Open champion reeled off three bogeys in a five-hole stretch on the back nine Saturday at the Deutsche Bank Championship. He didn't make a birdie until the final hole, yet by then it was too late. He shot a 74 & missed the cut by three shots.

Charley Hoffman had another low round at the TPC Boston with nine birdies for a 63. That gave him a three-shot lead over Brendon de Jonge.

Twice in Texas: Bowditch wins Nelson for 2nd career victory

IRVING, Texas (AP) — Steven Bowditch certainly has a Texas trend going in his career. The Australian will stop short of calling it a Tour trend.

''I'm obviously not at the superstar level,'' Bowditch said, trying to explain how he went from eight missed cuts this season & a disqualification a week earlier at Colonial to winning the AT&T Byron Nelson on Sunday. ''I just go out there & do my best & hopefully every now & then I obtain a chance to win.''

Bowditch rode his best birdie binge on the PGA Tour to a 5-under 64 & a four-shot victory in the Nelson, making him two-for-Texas in career titles after winning the Texas Open in San Antonio last year.
