Wade signs his $20 million deal, & Heat adds Stoudemire

Dwyane Wade has finalized his deal to stay in Miami, & Amare Stoudemire is joining the Heat.

Wade signed his $20 million, one-year contract Friday to stay with the Heat, that deal getting closed around the same time Stoudemire completed a physical & an interview before signing a one-year deal for around $1.4 million.

Wade is coming off a season where he averaged 21.5 points & was an All-Star for the 11th time. He's been a part of all three of Miami's title seasons, & Heat President Pat Riley in a statement released Friday says Wade ''will lead us as we look to win another NBA championship.''

DALLAS (AP) — Dirk Nowitzki took less money to make sure Chandler Parsons could join him in Dallas. Now the superstar is willing to take a seat on the bench if it will assist end a four-year run without a playoff series victory since the franchise's first championship.

The Mavericks are headed into another uncertain offseason after losing to Houston in five games in the first round. They're likely to end up with 11 free agents if leading scorer Monta Ellis & others opt out of contracts as expected.

Whether Nowitzki becomes a sixth man in his 18th season will depend largely on Dallas' ability to attract huge names in a free agent class that will include hometown product LaMarcus Aldridge of Portland & Houston native DeAndre Jordan of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Klay Thompson scored 21 points, Marreese Speights & Andre Iguodala had 18 apiece with a little long-range work to make Stephen Curry proud & the Warriors clinched home-court advantage throughout the playoffs while winning their 12th straight game, 123-110 over the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night.

Golden State (63-13) needs one more victory to assure finishing with the best record in the NBA for the first time since 1975-76, yet holds the tiebreaker on Atlanta for the top overall seed.

Mavs' Parsons out against Warriors with right knee swelling

DALLAS (AP) — Mavericks forward Chandler Parsons will miss Saturday night's game against NBA-leading Golden State with swelling in his right knee, raising questions approximately his health just two weeks before the playoffs.

Coach Rick Carlisle says Parsons sustained the injury in a loss at Indiana last Sunday. He scored 22 points in a win over Oklahoma City the next game & started against Houston on Thursday before leaving in the third quarter.

Carlisle didn't offer a timeframe for Parsons' return, yet says he isn't concerned approximately a long-term injury. Dallas is likely to be the seventh seed in the Western Conference, with Houston or Memphis the probable first-round opponent.

PHOENIX (AP) — Archie Goodwin sank the go-ahead 3-pointer, Markieff Morris added a critical jumper in the final 30 seconds & the Phoenix Suns pulled out a 98-92 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night.

Dallas rallied from a 17-point, third-quarter deficit & was up 86-80 with 5 minutes to play. But the Mavericks went four minutes without scoring while the Suns climbed back into the lead.

Eric Bledsoe had 20 points, nine assists & six rebounds for the Suns. Morris added 19 points & 13 rebounds.

DALLAS (AP) — Rajon Rondo tossed a pass backward high over his head & Monta Ellis caught it in stride for an effortless basket to assist Dallas build a huge lead on Orlando.

Other high-risk plays didn't work quite as well & kept the Mavericks from having an effortless night during what was supposed to be a short break in a difficult stretch of their schedule.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 25 points & the Mavericks withstood a fourth-quarter meltdown to beat the lowly Magic 107-102 on Wednesday night, their third straight win since an embarrassing home loss to Cleveland.
