Redskins WR DeSean Jackson out with hamstring injury

LANDOVER, Md. (AP) — Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson injure his left hamstring in the first quarter against Miami & will not return.

The injury occurred on the first play of Washington's second series Sunday. Jackson went deep down the right sideline & was overthrown. He clutched the back of his leg after the pass fell incomplete.

Jackson received treatment on the sideline, & the team determined he would not be healthy enough to continue.

p>Jackson caught 56 passes for 1,169 yards in 2014, his first season with the Redskins. He led the league with an average of 20.9 yards per catch.

Washington moreover lost safety Duke Ihenacho to a left wrist injury. He was declared out of the game in the second quarter.

Miami tight end Dion Sims was carted off the field in the second quarter after diving for a pass in the end zone. He was being examined for a concussion.
